Rudbeckia fulgida ‘Goldsturm’ (Black Eyed Susan) blooms in mid-to-late summer with an eye-catching display of golden flowers. Black Eyed Susan is very attractive to butterflies and the seed heads provide winter food for seed-eating songbirds as well. Reliable and tough, Rudbeckia tolerates both drought and clay and is easy to maintain.

1999 Perennial Plant of the Year 18-24″ tall x 24″ wide (seed propagated). Rudbeckia fulgida ‘Goldsturm’ (Black Eyed Susan) continues to increase in popularity because gardeners find it irresistible when they see a big plant in flower. This is a long-blooming cultivar, with lots of golden black-eyed daisies forming a tidy dome of color for many weeks in late summer. Most Rudbeckias are biennial but ‘Goldsturm’ is a true perennial variety, getting bigger and better each year. Everblooming. No deadheading needed but flowers can be harvested for reblooming. Cut back in late fall or wait until mid-spring.
